Small amounts of soil can be recycled at your local Household Waste Recycling Centre.

Please do not put soil in your local council’s kerbside residual or recycling bins.

GARDEN WASTE FACTS:

  • Garden waste, such as grass cuttings, weeds, prunings and leaves, can be recycled at all of Merseyside's and Halton's Household Waste Recycling Centres.
  • Most councils run a kerbside collection scheme for green and garden waste - some charge for the service so please check directly in your area.
  • Don't include bricks, rubble or excess soil in your green and garden waste bin.
  • Home compost bins are available to buy which will enable you to compost at home find out more here: www.merseyside.getcomposting.com.
