Asbestos is not accepted in your local council's kerbside recycling bin, bag or box or residual bin. Asbestos is accepted BY APPOINTMENT ONLY at a limited number of local Household Waste Recycling Centres. This can include corrugated and flat cement sheets from garages, sheds, flue pipers and floor tiles and linoleum. To book an appointment call 0151 255 1444 or book online at www.merseysidewda.gov.uk. Asbestos generated as part of a paid trade activity by a builder or tradesperson from your residence or if you are a landlord and have asbestos from a rental property is not be accepted as part of the service. Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority can dispose of hazardous household waste at some Household Waste Recycling Centre for residents, however it is dependent on what the waste is and how much of it there is. Examples of hazardous household wastes include: garden chemicals, weed-killers, insecticides, household cleaning products.
