Books cannot be recycled using your local council's kerbside recycling bin, bag or box. Books in good condition can be donated to charity shops, community organisations, charity book banks at Recycling Centres or to any of our Reuse shops. Books in poor condition can be taken to your local Household Waste Recycling Centre to be disposed of.
Paper products are some of the most valuable recyclable materials. Most clean papers are recyclable. Look out for stains such as grease, food, paint, dirt, etc. or any plastics or coatings. If the paper contains any of these it cannot be recycled. The exception to this is envelopes with clear windows - they CAN be recycled in your kerbside recycling collection. Shredded paper cannot be recycled due to fibre size - this should be place in your normal waste bin.
