Composting


We all know the importance of recycling materials such as plastic bottles, cardboard and paper- but what about our organic waste? That’s where composting comes in!

Composting copies the process which occurs in nature to breakdown and convert organic waste (i.e. garden waste, vegetable scraps, etc.) into a nutrient rich mixture that’s a positive addition to any garden.

By recycling these materials at home, we’re creating less residual waste, looking after the planet and saving money.

So, what are we doing?

In May 2021 in honour of Compost Awareness Week we gave away 50 compost bins to lucky local residents who entered our competition. We are continuing to provide support, information and best practice on all things composting.
