Gas bottles
Gas bottles are not accepted in your local council’s kerbside recycling bin, bag or box or residual bin. Gas bottles are also not accepted at your local Household Waste Recycling Centres. If the bottle has the manufacturer or dealer name on the side please call them in the first instance to arrange collection. If there is no contact information please contact Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority via email enquiries@merseysidewda.gov.uk or Tel: 0151 255 1444 who may be able to provide a contact number for the relevant owner / manufacturer. Alternatively please call Wastecare who may be able to provide advice and a collection service on Tel: 0113 385 4321.
HAZARDOUS WASTE FACTS:
- Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority can dispose of some hazardous household waste types at some Household Waste Recycling Centre.
- This service it is dependent on what the waste is, and how much of it there is. Please call Tel: 0151 255 1444 to check before travelling to a Centre.
- Examples of hazardous household wastes include: garden chemicals, weed-killers, insecticides, household cleaning products.
