Raw meat and poultry
Raw meat and poultry is not accepted in your local council’s kerbside recycling bin, box or bag, and cannot be recycled at your local Household Waste Recycling Centre. Raw meat and poultry should be disposed of in your local council’s kerbside residual bin.
FOOD WASTE FACTS:
- If you live in Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton or Wirral, food waste can be disposed of in the kerbside residual bin - please ensure it is securely wrapped.
- If you live in St Helens, please note that St Helens Council operates a weekly household food waste collection. Please visit www.sthelens.gov.uk/recycling if you are a St Helens resident and would like more information about the scheme.
- Some waste food materials can also be placed into a home composter to make compost.
- Cooked food or meat products should be only composted in a wormery.
